The Series: HP is 35-10-2 all-time against Sherman, including last season’s 43-42 win in Sherman. HP has won the last five meetings, including two district games in 1998-99, and has won 10 of the last 11 and has won or tied in 14 of the last 15 meetings (one tie in 1966).

 

Streaking Scots, part I: HP’s enters Friday’s game with a 64-game win streak at Highlander Stadium. The Scots’ last loss at Highlander came to Denison, 24-22, in 1998.

 

Streaking Scots, part II: HP enters Friday’s game with a 19-game win streak in the regular season dating back to the 2009 season and a 41-20 non-district loss at Coppell. The 19-game streak is the sixth-longest in the program’s history (the record is 47 from 2004-2008); and the 19-game unbeaten streak is also the sixth-longest in school history (the record is also 47).

HP among state’s best in preseason rankings

The Scots are ranked among the state’s top 10 teams in the Associated Press’ preseason rankings for an eighth consecutive season.

HP, currently at No. 8, has been ranked in the AP state poll every week since the start of the 2005 season. The Scots finished the 2010 regular season at No. 5.
