Austin College's Anthony Holman (pictured) put up 30 points on 7-12 shooting from behind the arc, but it wasn't enough as Sul Ross State pulled away from the 'Roos to capture the game 87-69. With the loss Austin College drops to 1-4 on the season and 0-3 in conference play.

Sul Ross came out hot in the first half, with guard Sidney Hooper scoring 15 of their first 24 points and shooting 6-6 from the field. Sul Ross built a 30-19 lead midway through the first half. Austin College, however, closed the gap to 40-37 at the end of the half, thanks in large part to the hot shooting had of Holman, who had 19 points at the break.

The Lobos quickly extended their lead in the second half back to eight points, however, and, though the 'Roos hung tough Hooper was too much as he finished the contest with 36 points on 14-20 shooting including 8-12 from the three-point line.
